VINEYARD

REGION: D.O.Ca. Rioja , District: Rioja Alavesa

VINEYARDS: 38-year-old vineyards located in the municipal boundaries of Laguardia. The soil is a type of very poor calcareous clay on south-facing hillsides. These wholly-owned vineyards house Tempranillo grapes and are harvested by hand.

CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with some Atlantic influence, extreme difference between summer and winter.
Annual rainfall: 400 liters

WINEMAKING: The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks for about 10 days, followed by a further 5 - 8 days with daily pump-throughs. It is then put into new French oak casks for 6 months before being bottled, where it completes its rounding.

WINE

TASTING NOTES: A deep dark cherry red body with a good, clean and glossy top. Light aromas of Crianza with a predominance of fruit. In the mouth, it has well-integrated acidity and a broad and intense finish in flavour.

PAIRING: Suitable for accompanying strong-tasting fish, fine charcuterie (Iberico hams), all kinds of roast meats, grilled stews, Foie Gras, fillet and sirloin steak, duck, partridge, feather game, rich and cured dishes.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: : 16 – 18 ºC
