VINEYARD

REGION: D.O.Ca. Rioja , District: Rioja Alavesa

VINEYARD:38-year-old, hand-harvested vineyards located within the municipal boundaries of Laguardia. The soil is a type of very poor calcareous clay on south-facing hillsides. Hold Tempranillo variety grapes.

CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with some Atlantic influence, extreme difference between summer and winter.
Annual rainfall: 400 liters

WINEMAKING: The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks for about 10 days, followed by a further 5 - 8 days with daily pump-throughs. After its malolactic fermentation, it goes into American and French oak casks for 12 months before being bottled to round off.

WINE

TASTING NOTES: A deep dark cherry red body with a good, clean and glossy top. Aromas of Crianza with a predominance of fresh wood on an elegant background of well-ripened black berries. In the mouth, it has well-integrated acidity and a full, silky palate with an intense finish that is broad in flavour and well-structured.

PAIRING: A perfect accompaniment for Mediterranean cuisine, fried foods, grilled vegetables, legumes, rice, pasta, fish, ham, chorizo, pâté, roasted, stewed or grilled meat, soft or semi-cured cheeses

SERVING TEMPERATURE: : 16 - 18 ºC
