REGION: D.O.Ca. Rioja, subzona: Rioja Alavesa
VINEYARDS: 33-year-old, wholly-owned vineyards, all located within the municipality of Laguardia. The soil is a type of very poor calcareous clay on south-facing hillsides. These vineyards host Viura and Malvasia varieties and are harvested by hand.
CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with some Atlantic influence, extreme difference between summer and winter.
Annual rainfall: 400 liters
WINEMAKING: the bunches of grapes are de-stalked and squeezed mechanically and left to stand for 5 hours at low temperature. The squeezed juice or must, together with the lees, ferments in stainless steel tanks for 20 days at 16°C. It is kept stable using a cooling system.
TASTING: Pale and bright in colour with greenish hues. Aromas of fresh fruit and freshly cut grass, with a fine and elegant expression of the variety. Very fresh and balanced in the mouth, provides a fruity and warm equilibrium of flavours.
PAIRING: This wine is highly appetising with salads, seafood, different soups and creams, steamed or fried fish, boiled or grilled vegetables, poultry and smoked meats, savoury snacks and desserts.
