41-year-old, hand-harvested vineyards located within the municipality of Laguardia. The soil is very poor, calcareous-clay on south-facing slopes.
Wholly owned vineyards.
Tempranillo grape variety.
Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influence which varies extremely between summer and winter.
Annual rainfall: 400 litres.
The grapes ferment untouched in stainless steel tanks for approximately 10 days, followed by a further 5-8 days with daily pump-overs. After malolactic fermentation, it is drawn into American and French oak barrels for 12 months and is finally rounded off in the bottle.
Deep dark cherry red robe wrapped in a clean and bright cloak. Crianza ageing aromas with a predominance of fresh wood on an elegant background of well-ripened black berries. Its perfectly integrated acidity makes for a full, silky taste on the palate with a broad, well-structured finish, intense in flavours.
The perfect accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine, fried foods, grilled vegetables, legumes, rice, pasta, fish, ham, chorizo, pâtés, roasted, stewed or grilled meat, soft or semi-cured cheeses.
